A programme by Fondazione Mediterraneo to favour the mutual understanding through meetings, images and music
Foued et Campa, who both lived as illegal immigrant in Europe for 2 months and two years respectively, each talk about before the camera what they said and dreamed of in Tunisia, three years earlier. Confrontation between the past and the future, dreams and reality, these characters speak about their unusual course in life. Daly meanwhile continues focusing his sights on elsewhere.
Walid Mattar, born in Tunisia in 1980, is doing a thesis in information management in Paris, alongside that he is studying cinema. A member of the Tunisian filmmakers foundation since the age of 13, he was director of photography on several shorts and is currently directing Le Cuirassée Abdelkarim en 2003, 1st national prize at the amateur film festival in Kélibia , bronze medal at the international competition for non-professional films (Unica). In 2005 he also worked on the documentary Poussières d’étoiles by Hichem Ben Ammar. In 2006, he co-directed with Leyla Bouzid, the short Sbeh El Khir as part of the project “10 Courts, 10 regards” from young Tunisian directors. The project will be presented in the cinephile village at the Cannes Film Festival.
